The Japanese animation masterpiece of Mr. Hayao Miyazaki, released in 1984, "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind", is a story about Nausicaa, a princess who lives in harmony with nature and communicates with insects, despite being the daughter of the King of the valley. In the polluted land after the war, a strange ecosystem known as the "Frozen Sea" has spread, and as conflicts between humans intensify, Nausicaa stands up in hopes of coexisting with humans, insects, and the Frozen Sea. This story is full of love and courage, contains messages to the people of the real world, and is still loved around the world 40 years after its release.

Now Seiko has once again, put this theme into a day-to-day wearable timepiece, the SPB437 / SARX119. The blue dial, which is the same color as the blue clothes that Nausicaa wears in the animation, is made of warm blue enamel with a soft luster, created under the supervision of enamel craftsman Mitsuru Yokozawa. 

At the 6 o'clock position of SPB437 / SARX119, a motif of the coat of a princess was imprinted. The leaf-shaped hour and minute hands are a white color that stands out against the dial, and the length of the minute hands further improves the readability of the time. The second hand that keeps ticking is finished in gold color and serves as an accent. At the side of the crown is decorated with blue glass, that is modeled after the eyes of the "giant bug" that appears in the story.

The movement of the caliber can be seen through the gold-colored screw and see-through case back, and the legend of the Valley of the Wind, "Clothed in blue robes, descending onto a golden field." is also engraved on the ring.
